#YouBlogYou (Volume 1)

It’s only about two months since I put up this site and became serious about blogging. As of today, I’m taking part of a blog link-up series called #YouBlogYou. I believe that this blog series aims to help me and my fellow bloggers to know more about ourselves as bloggers and for us to learn from each other’s styles and experiences.

Upon participating in this series, we are to answer 11 questions in a form of a blog post. Hence, here are my answers to the 1st volume of #YouBlogYou.

1) What inspired you to blog?

Back in September of 2014, I realized my passion on entrepreneurship and personal finance. At first, I simply wanted to have a diary about my life experiences on the said topics. However, as the days passed, I realized that I wanted to share my experiences and learnings about these topics to others. I’m not that much of a public speaker, thus, I thought of creating a blog. I hope this could inspire its readers to find their own definition of success and start their journey towards it. I believe my inspiration in blogging is knowing that readers learn something good on what I write.

2) When did you start blogging?

I started to blog last March 2015 using Blogger. I used the domain www.successrichtips.blogspot.com. Later, I moved to WordPress and used the domain www.successrichtips.wordpress.com. However, By June of 2015, my blogging career went on hiatus until September 2015. Hence, by October of 2015, I got my personal domain (www.skydivetosuccess.com.) and eventually put up this site.

3) What is the topic you enjoy blogging the most?

This one is quite simple. I believe that as long as the topic has something to do about becoming successful, I actually enjoy blogging about it.

4) How long does it take for you to finish a blog post.

I try to make it a point that I am able to write at least 2 to 3 posts a week. Hence, I try to make sure that I get to finish a post within 24 to 48 hours upon starting it. Usually if I’m on the groove, I can finish a post in just a few hours.

5) If you were to name three (3) goals you want your blog to achieve next year, what would it be?

  1. To have at least 200 post by the end of 2016.
  2. For my blog to have high traffic.
  3. For my blog to become a catalyst of change (a blog that is able to encourage its readers to become positive/be inspired after reading a blog post.)

6) Does your family know about your blogging career?

Yes. My siblings even share my posts whenever they see me sharing it on my social media. 🙂

7) Which blog or blogger inspires you the most?

Financial bloggers and entrepreneurs inspire me the most. As long as the blog is about financial literacy and success, I consider it inspiring. However if I am to choose one that inspires me the most, that would be Mr. Fitz Villafuerte’s “Ready To Be Rich” blog. His blog contains a lot of topics about personal finance, business and motivation. I actually want my blog to become like his in the long run.

8) What is the greatest achievement your blog has received? If you haven’t got any, what would be the achievement you’d want to receive?

My blog hasn’t received any major achievement yet. But I guess owning a customized domain and my own web host provider could be one. In the long run, I wish for my blog to be one of the leading blogs in the field of personal finance and entrepreneurship around the Philippines and even outside the country.

9) What is your best viewed post? Share it with us by providing a hyperlink and a short description about it.

My most viewed post is a story of a couple who became millionaires with only a 20 peso investment. They proved that having a low capital can go a long way as long as you stay focused and don’t loose hope. This is one of the many inspirations that I have as an entrepreneur. 10) If you were to give out three (3) advises for newbie bloggers, what would it be?

  1. Keep writing.

Even if you think you have poor writing skills, even if you have only a few readers, even if you have only a limited time writing, don’t stop writing articles for your blog. No blogger started as a master. Everyone was a beginner at the start. Successful bloggers are made because they never gave up on writing.

  1. Have a goal on what you want to achieve with your blog.

Having a goal is a good way to become successful. As Napoleon Hill once said, “The starting point of all achievement is desire.”

  1. Explore new places, meet people, and try doing different things.

As a blogger, there is a time that I tend to run out of ideas on what to write. Whenever this happens, I just go another place, talk to other people and try something new. I gain new experiences and with these experiences, I am able to have new ideas for my next blog posts.

11) If you were to give out three (3) advises for yourself as a blogger, what would it be?

My answers on number 10 are actually my answers for this question. 😛 However, to be more specific, here’s a simple letter to myself:

Hi Poi,

I just want to give 3 advises to you in your blogging career. I hope you’ll always keep this in mind whenever you write.

1. Stay positive

Always think of happy thoughts. Don’t ever write whenever you’re in a bad mood. I know there are times that you get depressed for not having enough traffic on your site, or when you don’t have a new idea what to write, remember that you started to blog to inspire and not to brag.

2. Chill

Just enjoy writing. You won’t be able to write something good if you don’t enjoy what you do.

3. Pray

Remember that you are who you are today because God is guiding you. Always be thankful to him for giving you knowledge, the chance to blog and  the chance to share your learnings to others. Without him, you will not be you.

Well that’s it! Hope you keep these 3 reminders in your mind always.

The couple who became millionaires with only 20 pesos is amazing. Congrats on your domain name I’ve been wanting to one for the longest time haha. I have also participated in this series 🙂

  • I want my blog to become a catalyst of change, too! It’s really overwhelming when someone sends you a message saying “You inspired me through your post.” And your letter to yourself just made me say “Awwwww…” Hahaha! It’s awesome! A very good reminder (for everyone) to just stay positive, chill, and pray.

Stay blessed, Jeypi! I wish you all the best! See you around!
