Reasons (Why People Don’t Go To Church)

In today’s fast-faced world, some of us tend to become preoccupied with our daily activities. Because of this, our Sunday is the only time that we get to rest, lay down in bed and sleep for the whole day. Sometimes, because we are tired, we even take for granted going to church. Sooner or later, we become so distant from God that we come up with so many excuses not to go to church. I know because I myself have these excuses.

While browsing thru YouTube,  I came across this video and thought of sharing it in this blog. It states some of the common reasons why people don’t go to church.

PS: Everyone has their own beliefs. Some may like this video, some may not. The important thing is, we respect each other’s beliefs and continue improving ourselves for the better. 🙂

There are really a lot of reasons why people don’t go to church. But if they really want to go, they should make a way to be able to.

I agree that it’s not about religion but more of developing a relationship with God. For me, personally, going to church is like a special time with Someone important in my life.

  • I agree. It isn’t about the religion but it’s about your faith in that Higher Being and how you live your life. There are people who religiously go to church but never practice what they preach. I believe in goodness, in living a good life, and in doing good to others.

  • I stopped going to church a while back. I just wanted to read off the bible and pray on my own instead.

  • I personally don’t like going to church because I can never understand anything. I think the most important thing is that you live your life as the best person you can be. That’s the best way to honor God.

  • I guess it’s all about perception. I like how this video debunks a lot of misconceptions about church, as well as encourage more people to go to church.

Respect is the word! Every one has their own set of beliefs and practice! I like how you don’t try to push your set of behaviour and impose it on others! Love ya!

  • I guess when it comes to church we have different set of beliefs and priorities. Either way, it’s also important to live a good life and establish good relationship with other people and our beliefs.

I personally find it fulfilling to hear mass every Sunday. Even if I will have to do it myself, I will go even first thing in the morning to complete my Sunday. – Fred

i do not really have that much Christian or Catholic friends, but most of the people I know who are, go to church. I really didn’t know that many Christians/Catholics do not go to church. Or is this video talking about Atheist?

  • I agree with you, ultimately it’s our own relationship with the Creator! There are many believers who don’t attend church and they home church instead.

  • I believe in God, but I don’t visit a place of worship often. As you say, its the relationship with the creator and with fellow humans who are less fortune than us…

  • I don’t go to church because it was how my parents influenced us. I believe in God though. For me, the most important is we try to become a blessing for others. I haven’t found the Church for me yet. -Summer

In my opinion, religious places such as the church, mosque or temple is extremely important to remind you the spiritual connection between you and God. We may take it for granted but these places will always remind us of this connection.
